Reigning FIA ETCR eTouring Car World Cup King Adrien Tambay enjoyed his first outing in the Race of Champions which took place in Pite Havsbad in Sweden over the past weekend.
Tambay was in attendance with 2022 CUPRA EKS team-mate Mattias Ekström, who would go on to secure a record-equalling fourth individual Race of Champions win.
For Tambay it was a first Race of Champions with the event seeing competitors pitched against each other in a knockout format using a variety of vehicles, inclusing CUPRA’s electric concept car, the UrbanRebel.
Ultimately, Tambay would be knocked out of the event by eventual individual finalist Mich Schumacher, but it was an even the reigning FIA ETCR King did most certainly enjoy.
“It was great, to be honest and I’m just looking forward to returning to the event. I was still finding my place with some cars and You know, when you don’t have the experience it is pretty difficult, but from one run to the next few you keep improving.
“Unfortunately, I ended up against Mick with the Polaris and he seemed to be the quickest with that vehicle and we were quite close.
“Mick made it to the final so my loss was not for for nothing!”
